CAMBRIDGE: 2010 (PROBLEMS THIS CITY’S GOT)

Listen to, and download if you like, “2010 (Problems This City’s Got)” by Vancouver’s CAMBRIDGE…it’s there to your right! You can read singer Jesse’s thoughts about the song here

2010 (Problems This City’s Got)

The Budget constraints means there’s no more money,
for affordable housing, and your lease is up.
And the last remaining shelters have been bought up, destroyed with the tenants evicted,
paved for parking lots

For a few hundred more cops, an army of armed border guards,
a few less good teachers and a healthy increase in your wage.
With all eyes on the city….

DON’T PLAY ALONG, DON’T GIVE THEM ANY SATISFACTION;
FUCK THEM ALL, LET’S DO THIS ON OUR OWN.
THE HIGHER YOU BUILD UP YOUR PEDESTALS, THE DEEPER WE MUST DIG INTO THE GROUND.

Now the light’s of the city will never go out and the cycle of addiction will not let you go,
we were here before and we will be here after you have put the city on display for the world, but please do not forget:

There are people sleeping in the streets at night,
children living off of whatever they can find.
This is not what we want, these are not our decisions.
These choices being made reflect their greed.

DON’T PLAY ALONG, DON’T GIVE THEM ANY SATISFACTION;
FUCK THEM ALL, LET’S DO THIS ON OUR OWN.
THE HIGHER YOU BUILD UP YOUR PEDESTALS, THE DEEPER WE MUST DIG INTO THE GROUND.

So go and lay your head where you may, tomorrow this will all be gone.

DON’T PLAY ALONG, DON’T GIVE THEM ANY SATISFACTION;
FUCK THEM ALL, LET’S DO THIS ON OUR OWN.
THE HIGHER YOU BUILD UP YOUR PEDESTALS, THE DEEPER WE MUST DIG INTO THE GROUND..
