CLASS WAR KIDS INTERVIEW IN DISTORTED MAGAZINE

Check out the interview with Patty from THE CLASS WAR KIDS in DISTORTED MAGAZINE (ALL THINGS PUNK ROCK)

Here’s the introduction:

“The recent tragic and catastrophic earthquake in Haiti triggered a global reaction in terms of trying to deliver aid and save lives on the struggling island-nation. The punk community too rose to the challenge and several artists lend their hands and time with benefits concerts, fund raising and auctions as well as digital downloads whose proceeds would benefit Haiti. One of the bands that came to Distorted’s attention are Canadian four piece The Class War Kids. The band released a 4-song Digital EP with all monies received earmarked for relief efforts so we decided to discuss their efforts with Patty (guitars and vocals) as well as the band’s music, mixing pop punk and politics as well as punks problem tackling apathy.”

THE CLASS WAR KIDS – RIOT 2010

Listen to song “Riot 2010″ on the Boxnet player, it’s just to your right..yeah, right there…

RIOT 2010

Converge!  Converge!
If we don’t than we can rest assured that our voice will once more go
unheard by the fascist, corporate right!
Unite!  Unite!
We need to stand together strong and fight a police state created to
neutralize and silence all dissent.

The power’s in our hands!
We’ll get what we demand!
No game’s on stolen land!
RIOT 2010!

Fight Back! Fight Back!
Before they execute another planned attack that displaces thousands,
creates massive debts and destroys our environment.
Resist!  Resist!
For every medal won we will raise a fist in solidarity to extinguish a
flame they thought would never die!

“CLASS WAR KIDS RELEASE 4-PACK”

From the St. John’s Telegram:

St. John’s-based punk rockers Class War Kids are raising funds for post-earthquake Haiti with a punk political punch for good measure.

The band’s four-song cover EP, “ Twinkles Last Stand,” is available for download online (available at www.theclasswarkids.bandcamp.com) for $3. Any and all proceeds will go to Haiti. Instead of donating to conventional charities, however, the Kids are giving their contribution to Haitian-based labour organizers Batay Ouvriye.

“ Very soon a rebuilding effort is going to be needed, and the people of Haiti should be the ones to rebuild their country.

“ The last thing that the people of Haiti need on top of this tragedy is to be set further back economically by having to resort to contracting out the rebuilding of Port-au-Prince to North

THE CLASS WAR KIDS…”MMMMM…TASTY”

New review from AMP Magazine, Issue 41:

The Class War Kids – “Reflection! Rage! Rebellion!”

Newfoundland’s CLASS WAR KIDS are back with a brand new disc packed with their brand of hook-filled, up-tempo punk tunes with socially and politically charged lyrics. Think of a mixed drink or a cocktail (make mine a molotov, please!) containing the following: 2 parts PROPAGHANDI, 1  part ANTI-FLAG and just a splash of ANGEL CITY OUTCASTS. Mmmmm…tasty. Last years “A Strong People Need No Leader” was one of my top albums of the year and “Reflection! Rage! Rebellion!” follows along in that same vein. This CD is a strong one from start to finish, but I’d especially recommend the tracks “Disinformation Age,” Viva Capitalista” and “Fuck The Troops.” (RK)

CLASS WAR KIDS REVIEW FROM RAZORCAKE

Review of “Reflection! Rage! Rebellion!” from Razorcake:

CLASS WAR KIDS:
Reflection! Rage! Rebellion!: CD
Class War Kids is an inspired anarcho pop punk band from Newfoundland, Canada. It’s okay that Propagandhi started to suck because this instant classic easily fills their oversized vegan shoes. Some of the lyrics are embarrassingly trite, such as on the anti-rape song, “Never Her Fault.” But others are gleefully confrontational, even by subculture standards. The boldest song mocks present-day military worship and is called “Fuck the Troops.” Other hits include “Cherry Poppin’ Conservatives,” a track about breaking down sexual orientation barriers. Slightly faster and harder than Propagandhi, but Propagandhi is clearly their main musical influence. Female backing vocals add additional flair to an already amazing mix. I bet all of their PC goofiness is merely a ruse to get laid, but as long as they keep making killer records, let these geeks have their fun. –Art Ettinger (Rebel Time)

Just for the record…Rebel Time Records has no problem with Propagandhi!
